Now, elementary OS isn’t without its divisive features. So when the next major elementary OS update comes along, you won’t be nagged with the same options you’ve previously selected. What’s especially cool about this welcome app is that it’s modular. It just sets you up with the basics and gets out of your way for good. No seemingly endless series of screens asking what kind of advertising or intrusive services you’d like. No logging into an Apple account to download free apps (although you can easily login to your Google, NextCloud or Fastmail accounts to have those services integrated system-wide). After the quick installation is finished, you’re greeted with a few welcome screens that invite you to toggle location services, enable the Night Light (a more comfortable reading environment that reduces blue light from your display), automatically delete your temporary and trashed files, and introduces you to the App Center. Elementary OS distinguishes itself right at the onset.
